Jovenville was recently selected to have work featured in the Big Book of Self Promotion, a prestigious collection of work from agencies around the world. The Jovenville promotions were selected from a pool of more than 2,000 other entries. This edition will be published in early June, 2009, and it’s distributed internationally.

Agency principal and founder Joven Orozco says he’s honored to be included, and views the award as a great opportunity – both for the agency and their roster of clients. “We really turn up the creativity with our self promotional pieces. Self promos allow us to showcase some of our best ideas so potential clients can see our capabilities and our strengths,” he said. “Our inclusion in this book raises the profile of our agency, and it also indirectly generates attention for the brands and clients we represent.”

Every year we look to create a fun one-of-a-kind piece that showcases our creativity to send to our existing and potential clients. Instead of sending the usual holiday card or boring mailer, we wanted to create something that was unique and useful.

The challenge was to send something that would get our customer’s attention and show them how fun we are to work with. So we created a trick or treat bag for Halloween. We created a spooky design that was printed on a 100% recyclable bag. We wanted our customer’s to know that we are conscious of the environment, so we used 100% recyclable materials in the printing process and the bag itself could be used over and over again.

2008 American Graphic Design Awards

Out of 10,000+ entries. top 15% get recognized with an Awards Certificate of Excellence.  Graphic Design USA has chosen five of our entries:  City of Irvine Annual Report, Goldenvoice La Reina Room Identity,  JOD Halloween Bag, JOD Cinco de Mayo Poster and JOD Sell Book.

My wife has expressed her concerns about my new love. She says I used to walk in from work and greet her and the kids, put down whatever I was doing if one of the kids was crying, or better yet if the house was on fire put it out?! What the he'll man... Can't a guy master Super Monkey Ball, download more sotware than one may ever need, synch the whole office's email, iCal, IM, social websites and iTunes all from one device?! Geeez!
